Configure Date and Price Formatting
TailDesk lets you control how prices and dates are displayed throughout the plugin. These settings affect service prices, booking totals, invoices and date labels across the TailDesk interface.
Open the General settings
- Go to TailDesk > Settings.
- Open the General tab.
- Configure Price format and Date format.
- Save the settings.
Configure the Price format
The Price format setting controls where the formatted amount appears in relation to your currency symbol or label.
The format must contain %s. TailDesk replaces %s with the localized amount, formatted to two decimal places.

You can use a currency symbol, currency code or other short label as long as %s remains in the format.
What happens if %s is missing?
If the saved Price format does not contain %s, TailDesk falls back to its default %s format instead of using an invalid price template.
For that reason, always keep %s in the field when adding or moving your currency label.
Where the Price format is used
The global Price format is used broadly across TailDesk and TailDesk Pro, including:
- Service prices
- Booking totals
- Price summaries and detailed pricing
- Invoice amounts
This keeps currency presentation consistent across your booking workflow.
Configure the Date format
The Date format setting controls how TailDesk displays dates in supported admin and frontend output.
TailDesk provides the following built-in formats:

The settings page shows a current example next to each option so you can see how the selected format will look before saving.
Date and time formatting
TailDesk uses the WordPress site timezone for its date formatting helpers. When TailDesk displays both a date and a time, such as a generated timestamp, it combines the selected TailDesk Date format with the WordPress time format.
If displayed times appear incorrect, check the WordPress timezone and time format under the normal WordPress General settings in addition to the TailDesk Date format.
Choose formats that match your audience
Use a date format that is familiar to your customers and staff. For example, d-m-Y or d/m/Y is common in many European workflows, while m/d/Y may be more familiar to US audiences.
For prices, placing the currency symbol before or after the amount is mainly a presentation choice. Pick one format and keep it consistent so service prices, bookings and invoices are easy to read.

Date and Price formatting are part of the TailDesk core settings and are available in TailDesk Free. TailDesk Pro uses the same global formatting for its extended pricing features, detailed booking totals and invoice output.
